Corrugated packaging,
built to specification.
Board making, flexographic printing and converting under one roof in Lusaka, without interruption since 1980. Tell us the box you need — or the product that needs a box — and we will specify it, test it and deliver it.
Board construction
A 5-ply carton is five sheets of paper, each chosen for a job. Get the combination right and the box is lighter, cheaper and stronger.

What we make
From a beverage tray to a pallet of plain sheets

Inside the plant
Reel to pallet, on one site
Nothing is subcontracted between the reel arriving and the truck leaving. That is why the specification holds.
- 01
Board making
Reels of liner and fluting are corrugated and laminated into board to the specification the job calls for.
- 02
Printing and cutting
Board is flexo printed and cut in line, so print registration and cut position are set together.
- 03
Converting and finishing
Die-cutting, slotting, folding, gluing and stitching turn cut board into the finished box.
- 04
Quality control
Board and finished product are tested against the specification before anything is released.
- 05
Packing and dispatch
Product is bundled, palletised, labelled and loaded on ICZ's own fleet.
Quality
We test it, and we can prove it
ICZ operates an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, certified by the Zambia Bureau of Standards. Board and finished cartons are tested on site against the specification before release.
Box compression (BCT)
Tells you how high the box can be stacked before the one at the bottom gives way.
Bursting strength
The board's resistance to a concentrated impact — a dropped case or a corner knock.
Grammage (GSM)
Confirms the board you are paying for is the board you received.
COBB water absorption
Predicts how the box behaves in cold chain, humidity and damp storage.
Dimensional inspection
A box that is 3 mm out will not run on an automated line.
Print inspection
The print is the customer's brand. It has to match, run to run.
Board quality inspection
Catches a board fault before it becomes a thousand faulty boxes.
Glue quality inspection
A box that opens at the joint has failed, however good the board is.

Sectors we know
Different industries break boxes in different ways. These are the ones we build for every week.

Protein & Agriculture
Packaging that holds its strength through cold, damp and rough handling — from hatchery to processing plant to retail.
Food Service & QSR
Branded, food-contact-appropriate packaging that folds fast in a busy kitchen and carries the brand out of the door.
FMCG & Manufacturing
Case packing and transit packaging for producers who need the same box, to the same spec, every month.

Shelf-ready packaging, storage and back-of-store cases for retailers, wholesalers and distributors.

Five questions and we can price it
Style, size, board, quantity, and where it goes. If you do not know the answers, send a photograph of the box you use now — that is enough to start.
Questions
Before you call
I do not know what box I need. Can you still help?
Yes. Send the product, or a photograph of it and the box you use now, and the quantity you buy. We will specify the box, confirm the board and come back with a price. Most customers start this way.
What is the minimum order?
It depends on the style and whether the box is printed, because printed work carries a plate and set-up cost that has to be spread across the run. Tell us the quantity you have in mind and we will tell you where you stand.
How long does an order take?
A repeat order of an existing specification is quicker than a new one, and a printed box needs printing plates before it can run. We confirm a delivery date with every quotation rather than quoting a standard lead time we cannot hold to.
Can you match a box I already buy?
Yes. Send a sample. We will measure it, identify the board and flute, and quote to the same specification — or tell you where the specification is heavier than it needs to be.
Do you print in colour?
Yes — flexographic printing direct to board, up to four colours. Send print-ready artwork, or the files you have and we will advise on what is needed.
Do you supply plain board and sheets as well as boxes?
Yes. Flat board cut to size, plain or printed, plus layer pads and slip sheets, across the full range of grades and flutes we run.
Do you deliver, and how far?
We deliver on our own fleet across Lusaka and the line of rail, and we supply export consignments with the documentation the corridor requires.
Can I buy a small quantity as a one-off?
Yes. Cash and walk-in customers are served alongside contract accounts.
